Once the wedding party has proceeded down the aisle and to the altar, the officiant may begin by asking the guests to be seated if applicable.
(Optional) The officiant may ask, “Who has the honor of presenting this Bride?” or, “Who gives this woman to be wedded to this man?” or, “Who supports this couple?” You may choose any variation that is best for you or leave it out altogether.
The officiant welcomes the guests, gives some words on marriage, and introduces the bride and groom. (Optional) The officiant then asks the guests if anyone has reservations about the couple getting married.
The officiant asks the couple to each state their intent to be married to the other. The bride and groom each state their intent by replying, "I do."
The vow exchange is the part of the wedding ceremony when the couple exchange vows that they have prepared for each other, or repeat vows spoken first by the officiant, or both.
The guest entrusted with holding the rings steps forward presenting them. The bride and groom each place the ring on the other's finger, repeating after the officiant while they look into each other's eyes.
"I now pronounce you..." followed by, "you may kiss the bride."
The married couple leaves first, followed by the wedding party (bridesmaids and groomsmen), followed by the rest of the wedding reception. The marriage license is filled out by the officiant and witnesses and then filed by the officiant.
